After their last sold out Intensive Workshop in Barcelona, Nil Teisner (Finding Flow) and Wil Brown (Figuring Things Out) come together again for a 5 day practice Intensive in Lisbon and share their practice and mutual research.

Explore the deep connection between strength, confidence and freedom in this hands-on workshop. Dive into movement-based games, acrobatic explorations and conditioning practices designed to help you move longer, not just harder, while embracing the joy of physical play. Together, we’ll discover how building strength can be embraced for creativity & artistry but also for cultivating competence, resilience, and self-assurance in all areas of life.

We’ll be diving into various disciplines that inspire and influence both Nil and Wil’s practice: Soft Acrobatics, Parkour, Strength and Conditioning, Climbing, Partner Practice, Dance

During the Practice Intensive we will explore dynamically each day. There will be a minimum of 20hrs of practice, with opportunity for extra exploration outside of this. The practice sessions will be held indoors in a beautiful, matted Judo Dojo as well as outside at various spots in the magical city of Lisbon.

With special insights from Wil & Nil’s transformative acrobatic techniques, you’ll experience how to do more with less and uncover the freedom that comes from mastering your movement. Perfect for movers of all levels seeking strength, flow, creativity and a renewed sense of empowerment.

Join us and transform how you move – and how you see yourself.

The following content will be presented individually during the workshop as well as linked together. The exact content will be chosen spontaneously, as both Nil and Wil like to work with the energy of the group and set an authentic process in motion.

Internal Practice / Zero Pointing:

The role of breathing, meditation and mindset in movement and how we can use these tools in our practice. Here, body awareness and body experience are at the forefront and guide the learning process.

Strength in Context:

Learn the minimal effective dose approach to build confidence across diverse movement scenarios. How can strength training enrich not only our sense of confidence but also nourish other practices like acrobatics or parkour?

Risk and Fear in Motion:

Explore parkour-inspired techniques to safely navigate fear, develop trust, and build a simple method to confront and grow from fear.

Learn rolling and falling techniques, test them in playful ways and integrate them into acrobatic exploration.

Creative Practice Toolkit:

Deepen your creative practice with powerful concepts, ideas and scores. Learn how to play effortlessly with acrobatic forms, gravity and your own imagination.

Posture & Pendulum Dynamics: Unlock free energy and efficiency by mastering this movement principle.

Redirection Mechanisms: Learn how to navigate momentum and steer it like a ship in the ocean.

Elastic Flow: Upgrade your bodies springs, find explosive bursts of energy – all while staying in an effortless and relaxed state.

Open Level:

To participate in the intensive you don’t need any special acrobatic skills, you don’t need to be particularly agile or overly strong. However, you should have an active movement practice – which style doesn’t matter. Please remember that we will be moving intensively for many hours over many days. Also, for this event it is expected that one has the willingness to try something unfamiliar, to show openness to novel experiences.

All participants of past events do not have to worry about repetitive material: the workshop is being revisited and updated frequently. While basic material will be taught in this one as well, Nil and Wil offer a great range of variations for all experience levels.

Post Workshop:

Following the intensive, all participants will receive a summary document with videos, texts and other resources that were covered during the weekend. It is understood that the resources will be treated with respect.

About Nil:

Nil has been involved in a wide variety of physical disciplines since childhood and has been sharing his experiences and ideas about a holistic, long-lasting, fulfilling and joyful movement practice in his work for over 10 years.

The teaching is informed by his interest and practice of many systems and disciplines, including rehab & health training, acrobatics, skateboarding, bouldering, dance, weight training, parkour, gymnastics, combat, yoga, meditation, bodywork, didactics, pedagogy, etc. The way of working is and remains dynamic: new experiences are integrated into the work, superfluous things are discarded.

The teaching goes beyond the physical: aspects such as learning experiences and processes, exploration of the self, trust in one’s own body or fear management are an integral part of the approach.

About Wil:

Over the past years I have spent my time adventuring the world, practicing with many inspiring individuals across a variety of disciplines, in an attempt to figure things out. After years of searching for ‘the answer’ I realized there isn’t one, but many. The myriad of learning opportunities and personal growth that lies within it is fascinating, and keeps life alive. It keeps me on the journey of figuring things out, whilst avoiding the stagnation and ignorance of thinking I know everything. To me a personal practice should give more than it takes.

My joy lies in learning. In being exposed to new and inspiring individuals and disciplines. In breaking down and working on my weaknesses. My practice is my own, but it is not alone.

I see my work as an attempt at providing this to my students. A personal practice, an embodied learning experience driven by their own motives and guided by my experience and ideas.
